Filipe Moreira (lipp)

I'm Filipe Moreira, but call me lipp, like my friends do. It all started in 2010, when my grandmother Carmelita bought a computer and left it at her house. I pretty much moved in. That is where I learned to convert manga, to download games in ways better left undescribed and, above all, to squeeze performance out of a bad PC: I found out that turning off DWM, the visual effects of Windows 7, made everything lighter, and I never stopped.

In 2013 she gave me my first laptop, which managed to be worse than her computer. It was the best thing that could have happened: weak hardware forces you to understand hardware, operating systems, Linux, all of it. From .bat I moved to PowerShell scripts, from PowerShell to C#, and a process of somewhere between 100 and 200 steps became a single app: Next Boost Pro, the project I'm proudest of.

Then came Console Mode and JoyChromium, because doing by hand what can be automated annoys me, and I wanted my PC to behave like a console. These days almost nothing I make ships without AI somewhere in it: I have agents doing even the code review, the part everyone swore would always need a human.

I have a grudge against software that polishes the interface and forgets to deliver, and against Electron apps eating RAM (yes, I know what JoyChromium is made of). Away from here: my anime is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and my team is Flamengo. I went to Law school at 18 because I was lost, like 11 out of every 10 Brazilians. I write this blog to watch my own progress, and for whoever is looking for an app that solves the problem I once had.
